The Youth Environmental Leaders League (YELL) is a youth organization formed through eco-camps under the ECOSTAR Project, a youth-driven group that stands to uphold leadership, promote change, and raise awareness about environmental issues. The organization aims to increase the youth capacity for ridge-to-reef management and to influence others to do the same. The first batch of YELL was established on April 20, 2016. Composed of different youth from the municipality of Tiwi, eco-camp served as a learning venue to know the current issues concerning the environment and determine ways to take actions. The organization’s programs and activities promote environmental awareness and consciousness. These includes the three(3) main objectives of the organization;\r\n\r\n1. Coastal Resource Management (CRM)- Engagement with fisherfolk and coastal communities for coastal resource management and marine biodiversity conservation and protection.\r\n2. Solid Waste Management- To reduce and eliminate adverse impacts of waste materials on the environment and human health to promote economic growth and provide high standard of living; and \r\n3. Forestry- Engagement with lowland and upland farmers and communities in reforestation activities for livelihood opportunities and prevention of floods and landslides.\r\n
