Don Mariano Marcos National High School Barkada Kontra Droga (DMMNHS-BKD) is a school-based organization which primarily purpose is to provide information and promote awareness and intervention to drug abuse and its related issues. This organization supports the project of the community in building a better community especially to the lives of the students and the youths of the Municipality of Gattaran. Further, this organization is aligned to the Department of Education’s thrusts, programs, projects and activities. Barkada Kontra Droga was founded last October 22, 2019 through the initiative of Mrs. Nanette A. Daniel.\r\nThis responsibilities of the school is incorporated with the National Drug Education Program (NDEP) of the Department of Education which was set up in 1992 by virtue of Republic Act 7624 titled, “Integrating Drug Abuse Prevention and Control” across the curriculum. This was organized to lessen drug related problems not just in school but also in the entire nation.\r\n General objective: To promote people empowerment in leading a healthy lifestyle that is drug-free and productive\r\n Specific Objectives: \r\n 2.1. To establish a Barkada Kontra Droga Movement.\r\n 2.2. To train the people in advocating a healthy, drug-free lifestyles.\r\n 2.3. To encourage productive use of time and alternative activities.\r\n 2.4. To provide support services towards the adoption of Barkada Concept among families, teachers, and other professional groups.\r\n
