The Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE) is a professional organization for civil engineers in the Philippines that was formed by merging two separate organizations of civil engineers in a group of the government sector and private sector. And it supports student chapters in order to encourage students majoring in civil engineering to\r\ncollaborate with one another and show a commitment to science and technology; enhance and improve civil engineering standards, curricula, and facilities in schools; provide encouragement, guidance, and leadership to civil engineering students; and promote the association of civil engineering students with the members of the civil\r\nengineering profession. With the formation of student chapters, the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers University of the Visayas organization was established in 1984 and has been recognized for twenty-four (24) years in the College of Engineering and Architecture. This organization provides support to enhance and improve the students in terms of academic, leadership skills, and lastly to inspire students who are pursuing to be civil engineers. It is also continuously doing tutorials every Friday to everyone that is interested and much willing to learn in order to become better each day to reach one’s dream. The organization also plans a project that is to work with Hydro Engineers to be able to resolve the waste in the area (Rivers)of Colon and the drainage system as it may seem disturbing in a way that it is now, especially with the students when it is raining. And the most exciting project of the organization is the SPORTSFEST which is interschool of PICE Cebu Student Chapter, this is the one to look forward to as it prepares a lot of joy, fun and excitement for each student chapters. It will also helps the camaraderie and connection between schools to not fade and be sustained to strengthen, build up, nourish and be cherished.
