The Banisilan Adolescent-Youth Friendly Organization is a non-profit, youth-led, and voluntary association run by young volunteers and health professionals and is centered on creating a responsive, inclusive, and safe community for the adolescent-youth cohort. The organization is designed to support its members by providing services to cater to the needs, worries, and personal development of its members through various social initiatives and long-term projects. It also focuses on securing democratic rights, promoting social justice, encouraging active community participation, and offering opportunities and avenues for its members in the form of voluntary missions, community service, advocacies, leisure activities, and reach-out programs.\r\n With the cooperation of the local government of the Municipality of Banisilan, the Rural Health Unit, Health Professionals, the founding members, and the adolescent-youth sectors, the club aims to:\r\n1. To provide a safe, friendly and supportive environment for the members to socialize, establish friendships, and feel a sense of belonging.\r\n2. To encourage and manifest the development of leadership skills alike, confidence, and self-esteem among its members.\r\n3. To offer opportunities for learning and skill-building in different areas: sports, arts, music, technology, and community services.\r\n4. To promote both healthy behaviors and healthy lifestyles: Physical fitness, healthy eating habits, and responsible decision-making.\r\n5. To foster positive relationships with adults who can serve as mentors and role models for adolescents and youth.\r\n6. To create a space for open communication and discussion of issues pertaining to its effects on the club and to the well-being of its members: Mental health, bullying, and substance abuse.\r\n7. To provide a platform for its members to advocate and be active in their cause towards certain societal issues that matters to the adolescents and youth: Social justice, environmentalism, and community development.
