The Albay Young Farmers Program Organization’s Inc. (AYFP) is a non-stock and non-profit SEC registered organization of Albay’s young generation of active leaders towards a common mission of the promotion of sustainable, effective and practical agricultural programs and projects for the community. The organization is headed by the Executive Director, Mr. Joshua Carl Barcelon. The organization’s inception began as an off-shot of an agricultural initiative known as the Edible Landscaping sa Barangay Project (ELBP)- a pandemic-recovery response project which yields food security and organic farming technology within public’s reach. The organization has institutionalized and transformed ELBP into a wider and structured program, and has visualized to be a long-term instrument, serving both as an ally and advocate of the development of the agricultural sector through the active participation of youth leaders and volunteers, armed with strong collaboration with the community partners. Months from its establishment, AYFP has gained a huge membership of 3,040, and has worked with the government and private sectors to take effect its programs as being true to its mission. AYFP holds esteemed reputation by being an accredited organization of UNESCO Philippines, and a recognized partner in community projects of the Local Government Units in the Province of Albay. Recently, the Albay Young Farmers Organizations Inc. was hailed the National Winner of the Ten Accomplished Youth Organizations 2022 - (TAYO20). The annual search recognizes and supports the excellent contributions of youth organizations in the country. For two decades now, TAYO Awards Foundation has been in the mission of finding, recognizing, and celebrating the efforts of youth organizations and their contributions to nation-building. Albay Young Farmers Organization, Inc. was recently acclaimed as 2022 National Winner of the Ten Accomplished Youth Organizations in the Philippines, Adhika Fellowship Grant Award, and the San Miguel Corporation Better World Awardee during the TAYO 20 Awards: The Search for Ten (10) Accomplished Youth Organizations at Diamond Hotel in Roxas Boulevard, Corner Dr. J., Quintos St., Manila, 1000, Metro Manila, Philippines. This award or commendation is a manifestation of the organization’s excellent performance in and continuous support for hoisting agricultural development, leading by practice the cruciality of Agriculture, and beseeching the way to gradually recuperate from the impact of pandemic through Agriculture using organic farming practices.
