We, the Smile Alabel Youth Organization (SAY-O) is a non-government and independent organization. We are the partner of LGU Alabel conducting youth programs in the 13 barangays of the town. The aim of SAY-O is to help young people to become responsible to their family and co-youth as to be the role model to the community and instill to young people to be confident and resilient. The main goal of SAY-O is to help reduce the risk of becoming involved in unsafe activities, such as using drugs and alcohol, HIV, early pregnancy and early marriage which is very rampant in the municipality. We do educational campaign during the youth day program to provide concrete and reliable information so that it can change public perception of young people from being "the problem" to an important part of making life better in the community. We also promote youth empowerment. Moral Recovery Program, Seminars and team building were conducted purposely to encourage the youth participation and promote the culture of each barangay, as Alabel is known to be home of tri-people and has a diverse culture.
