The Pag-Asa Youth Association of the Philippines, Inc. or PY AP is a duly constituted provincial organization of the out-of-school youth between 15-24 years old who are clientele of the DSWD. The PYAP was first incorporated on July 29, 1974 with Security Exchange Commission (SEC) under the name of Pag-Asa Youth Movement Inc. The objectives of the said organization are to engage the youth in various activities that will promote their social, economic develo ment such as: food roduction, volunteer communi service, health and nutrition, population awareness, protection and conservation of natural resources and improvement of the natural environment. 1brough the said program, the OSY are encouraged to be independent and self-confident as they seek to improve their education and receive continued support as they work to successfully complete a program. Whenever possible, the goal is to help the student return to High School and receive a diploma. The Department of Social Welfare and Development has a comprehensive program that encompasses for the development of the out of school youth in the country. The Unlad Kabataan Program, a comprehensive youth program that aims to strengthen the bond between out of school youth and youth at risk. In Camiguin Province, PY AP organization was organized for the development of the disadvantage youth in terms of her/his socio-economic, physical, psychological, cultural and spiritual development, and to become selfreliant economically productive and socially responsible citizens. The Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines Camiguin chapter serves as strategy that provides forum to discuss youth issues and concerns related to their projects and come up with a solution/recommendation addressed to both the youth and other system involved in program plarming and implementation.
