Muslim Youth Council of Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines was founded in 2014 by its first Chairman, Mr. Adzhar Madjid together with Omera Usop Imam, Nur Jamal Batugan, and with Ma'am Mona Pangan and Ustadh Jalani as advisers. Additional fact: MYC's conceptualization started with a talk with Atty. Tonton Nery. ~OBJECTIVES: 1. Develop relationships among Muslim Community in the city of Cagayan de Oro and promote Muslim unity. 2. Encourage Muslim cooperation. Participate in social, cultural, religious, and other activities in accordance with Islam's best traditions. 3. Encourage cordial interactions between Muslims and non-Muslims, and make an effort to educate non-Muslims who are interested about Islam. 4. Collaborate and communicate with other student organizations and community organizations in order to advance shared causes such as encouraging human rights, world peace, and cultural diversity. 5. And finally, to make every effort to follow the Sunnah (traditions and examples of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW)) and the guidance of the Quran in order to serve and please Allah (SWT) in the greatest way possible.
