The Public Health Society is a program-based organization that aims to spread awareness among its members, faculty and students of the College of Allied Health Sciences the importance of Public health. Furthermore, the organization aims to cater the needs of the students and faculty from the Public Health Program and to uphold the mission, vision and objectives of the BS Public Health Program. BS Public Health Students should be able to: 1. Demonstrate technical competence in the conduct of health education and health promotion activities in the areas of communicable and infectious diseases, disaster management and risk reduction, maternal and child health, family and community medicine as well as in biosafety and waste management; 2. Demonstrate analytical and critical thinking skills in the workplace; 3. Engage in the collection, analysis, and projection of health information for improving the health care management systems; 4. Demonstrate inter-personal skills, leadership qualities, and ethical practice of the profession; 5. Apply research skills in relevant areas of Public Health practice; 6. Participate in community-oriented activities; 7. Engage in life-long learning activities; and 8. Demonstrate effective teaching and communication skills. 9. Perform task considering gender responsiveness.
