We, the students of the St. Matthew College, imploring the aid of the Divine Providence, and guided by the SMC Philosophy, Mission and Vision to establish a student council that will embody our ideals, promote harmony, cooperation, socialization, loyalty, and welfare based on school’s eight (8) core values; Love for God, Benevolence, Compassion, Concern for others, Integrity, Industry, Perseverance and Honesty do hereby promulgate this constitution and by-laws. The student organization will be called "Council of Mattheans” or CM. It is an official student council under St. Matthew College. Section 2 CM promotes a harmonious relationship between the students and their teachers and shares in the process of learning through quality instruction. Section 3 CM will promote an open conversation with student body, considering their views and concerns, and discussing these with the school management on behalf of the students. Section 4 CM will participate actively in all activities and important events of the St. Matthew College. Section 5 CM will participate actively in the educational development, school policy, co-curricular events, and extra-curricular events and for building relationship of students and teachers. Council of Mattheans Objectives: a. Encourage and inculcate discipline, camaraderie and courtesy among the students. b. Foster cooperation and network between or among students, the faculty, and alumni. c. Publish quality materials such as research papers, newsletters, information and brochures, etc. for the benefit of students and the school. d. Engage in outreach program or activities, presentations and civic activities within and outside the school. e. Aims to provide students the opportunity to participate in the development of their leadership, organizational, problem solving and communication skills. f. To develop and create a better sense of responsibility and cooperation among the students. g. To train students to plan and organize events that contributes to the spirit and community welfare. h. To make the students participate in the development of interactive programs with the faculty, administrations, and society.
