Education

To give importance to education of the school children most especially in this time of pandemic, DAGYAW (Delivery of Assistance and Guidance for the Young minds’ Advancement and Welfare) expressed the spirit cooperation at Barangay San Jose, Tubungan, Iloilo. DAGYAW, is a Hiligaynon word meaning “bayanihan” which benefits 44 learners from Buenavista Elementary School, Tubungan Central Elementary School and Saint Anthony Abbot Parochial School in Tubungan, Iloilo. It is a Community-Based Learning Program with its objectives; BULIG SA KABATAAN! Or Helping the Children: (1) BUhayin ang LIterasiya at tulungan ang mga maGulang; (2) Sanayin sa Arithmetic ang mga bata; (3) KAbataan boluntaryongmagtuturo at (4) BAsang may pag-unawa TutukAn para sa kinabukasAN. To assist also the parents, 17 Kabataang Guro Volunteers who are members of Sangguniang Kabataan were also trained to help teach and assess the learning of the school children in their respective homes. They are the modern day heroes amidst pandemic. The project continues to ignite the spirit of DAGYAW among the Barangay Officials, Sangguniang Kabataan, OFWs, Government Workers and teachers who truly believe that COVID 19 is not hindrance to educate the youth who are the hope of our motherland. To our modern day heroes; our youth, DAGYAW matters.
