Social Inclusion and Equity

TAGAD stands for Teen Advocates of Gender Awareness in Dumaguete. The organization is a partner of Gender Watch Against Violence and Exploitation (GWAVE) on the advocacy of gender awareness and equality. Members of this group are male high school and college students within Dumaguete. Each member went through series of seminars under GWAVE tackling modules such as Gender Awareness Training (GAT), Positive Masculinity, Violence Against Women, Gender-based Violence Laws and Reproductive Health. Every month, the group meets of review these modules and discuss things that would strengthen their organization and ways to efficiently promote its advocacy. Its primary goal is to raise gender awareness and equality. By conducting seminars on different high schools in Dumaguete, gender awareness and equality would be elevated and that our society would then be free from gender-based violence. Last March 2018, TAGAD received the Negros' Young Heroes Award in Group Category from the Gaba-an Youth Lead
