The “Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines” (PYAP) a duly constituted Barangay-Based Organization of the disadvantaged youth between 15 – 30 years old. The PYAP was first incorporated on July 29, 1974 with the Securities and Exchange Commission under the name of Pag-asa Youth Movement, Incorporated (PYM, Inc.) and thus become the affiliate organization of recipient of Department of Social Welfare and Development under the Unlad Kabataan Program (UKP). As a result of innovative programs and services and further strengthening the capabilities of the youth program, the PYM, Inc. changes its name to (PYAP, Inc.) based on its SEC Registration No. 01328, approved on April 12, 1996. The PYAP, Inc. is organized nationwide across the 18 Regions including ARMM and is federated from the Barangay, Municipal, City / Provincial, Regional and National Levels. The PYAP federation of different levels serves as a strategy that provides a venue to discuss issues concerning the youth. The Unlad Kabataan Program (UKP) which is geared towards the total development of the disadvantaged youth has been devolved to the Local Government Unit for implementation. The DSWD provides support to the sector by reviving the PYAP National Secretariat in November 2007. The Regional PYAP Secretariat shall likewise be revived to sustain the organizations at the local level. The elected Regional PYAP President shall be designated as the Regional Secretariat to ensure the efficient and effective implementation of programs and projects for the youth
