Community-based scouting aims to engage youth in a variety of outdoor and educational activities that foster personal growth, leadership skills, and community involvement. Through scouting, participants develop a sense of responsibility, teamwork, and respect for others while exploring nature and serving their local communities. The objectives of community-based scouting include: 1.Youth Development: Providing opportunities for young people to develop essential life skills such as leadership, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving in a supportive and inclusive environment. 2. Outdoor Exploration: Encouraging participants to appreciate and respect nature through outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, orienteering, and environmental conservation projects. 3. Community Service :Engaging scouts in meaningful service projects that address local needs, promote civic responsibility, and instill a sense of belonging and responsibility towards their communities. 4. Character Building: Instilling values of honesty, integrity, compassion, and respect for diversity through the scout oath and law, encouraging scouts to become responsible and ethical members of society. 5. Personal Growth: Providing opportunities for self-discovery, confidence-building, and personal development through challenges, adventures, and experiences that push individuals out of their comfort zones. 6. Leadership Development: Empowering young people to take on leadership roles within their scouting units and communities, fostering skills in decision-making, organization, and mentorship. 7. Cultural Exchange: Promoting understanding, tolerance, and friendship among scouts from diverse backgrounds through intercultural activities, camps, and exchange programs. By embracing these objectives, community-based scouting programs strive to create well-rounded individuals who are prepared to make positive contributions to society and become active, responsible citizens in their communities.
