Health, Education, Social Inclusion and Equity
The Aklan Peer Educators is a dynamic youth-serving organization under the supervision of the Aklan Provincial Population and Gender Office (AKPPGO). This dedicated group of young individuals plays a crucial role in empowering Aklan's adolescent population through education and awareness campaigns. It focuses on delivering comprehensive Adolescent Health and Development (AHD) programs specifically tailored to the needs of Aklanon youth. One of the core strengths of the Aklan Peer Educators’ program is its reliance on peer education. Adolescents often feel more comfortable learning and discussing sensitive topics with their peers. The members undergo rigorous training to become effective educators, equipping them with the knowledge, communication skills, and empathy needed to connect with their peers. This approach fosters a safe and supportive environment where open discussions and honest questions are encouraged. Aklan Peer Educators’ program plays a vital role in promoting positive health outcomes, responsible behavior, and overall well-being among adolescents in Aklan. By providing accurate information, fostering critical thinking skills, and empowering youth to make informed decisions, Aklan Peer Educators contribute to building a healthier and more empowered generation of Aklanon youth.
