The Skylark strives to embody the principles of an independent, student centered and community oriented publication that caters to the requirements of both academia and the society. It aims to circulate essential, timely and relevant information that concerns the students and faculty of the university; to become the training ground for campus journalists, creative writers, and student leaders of the uiversity; to protect student's rights; to maintain the standards and ethics of joournalism; to sustain the languages of the province by publishing content written in onhan and ini; to initiatively cooperate in the activities of the community; and to participate in the struggles of other campus papers and the mainstream media for a free press.
