Active Citizenship
Mariposa Aristocrat Youth Organization (MAYO) is a community-based organization dedicated to empowering and engaging young people aged 15-30 years old in positive, impactful activities that foster personal growth, community involvement, and leadership development. Founded in May 2018, MAYO operates within our barangay, Talon Tres, serving as a beacon of opportunity and support for youth from diverse backgrounds. Our programs and initiatives are designed to address the unique challenges facing today's youth while nurturing their potential to become the leaders of tomorrow. Objectives: 1. Community Engagement: We believe in the power of community involvement to instill a sense of belonging and civic responsibility among youth. Through volunteer projects, community service events, and partnerships with local organizations, we encourage young people to actively participate in making positive changes within their neighborhoods. 3. Leadership Development: MAYO is committed to nurturing the leadership potential of every member. Through leadership training, mentorship programs, and youth-led initiatives, we provide opportunities for young people to develop essential leadership skills such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving. 4. Promoting Health and Well-being: We recognize the importance of supporting the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of youth. Through wellness workshops, recreational activities, and access to resources, we strive to promote healthy lifestyles and provide support for those facing mental health challenges. 5. Fostering Diversity and Inclusion: MAYO celebrates diversity and promotes inclusivity in all aspects of our organization. We create safe and welcoming spaces where young people from all backgrounds can come together, learn from one another, and celebrate their differences. Through these objectives, MAYO endeavors to empower young people to reach their full potential, become active participants in their communities, and make a positive impact on the world around them."
