The Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) formerly known as Supreme Student Government (SSG) in the Philippines is a student-led organization established in public secondary schools under the auspices of the Department of Education (DepEd). It serves as the highest student governing body within the school, representing the interests and welfare of the student population. The SSLG is responsible for promoting student leadership, participation in school activities, and fostering a sense of community among students. Promote Leadership and Citizenship: Encourage and develop leadership skills among students and foster a sense of responsibility, discipline, and patriotism. Enhance Student Participation: Provide opportunities for students to participate actively in school activities and decision-making processes. Advocate for Student Welfare: Serve as the voice of the student body, advocating for their rights and welfare within the school administration and the wider community. Foster Community and Collaboration: Promote a sense of community within the school by organizing programs and activities that enhance student engagement and collaboration. Support Academic and Non-Academic Excellence: Encourage students to excel in both academic and non-academic endeavors by providing support and recognition for their achievements. Promote Ethical Standards and Good Governance: Uphold and promote ethical standards and principles of good governance among student leaders and the wider student body. Facilitate Developmental Programs: Initiate and implement programs that contribute to the personal and social development of students, including those focused on health, environment, and socio-cultural activities.
