Active Citizenship
Catholic Youth Ministry is the specific branch of the Church's mission to reach out directly the young and give the love of Jesus. It is the ensemble of actions, activities for, to, by and with the young to address their present situation in order to involve them as active agents in the Church's mission. It includes the formation, organization, and mobilization of the young in their different setting. More than just actions and activities, Catholic Youth Ministry is the process of journeying that the entire Christian community makes with the young people. It flows from the selfsame overall ministry of the Church, but is carried out as a concrete expression addressed to the young in their everyday situation. Youth Ministry is the growth-enabling relationship between the youth ministers and the youth. It is becoming like "JESUS" to every young people, after the example of the Risen Christ who walked along with the two disciples on the way to Emmaus, and back to Jerusalem. (Luke 24:13-35)
