The Secondary Supreme Learners Government (SSLG) is the pinnacle of student governance in a school, acting as a beacon for learners’ rights and welfare, an exemplar of academic excellence, and a symbol of ethical character and profound moral values. As an autonomous, diplomatic, and unified entity, the SSLG is the supreme democratic voice of the student body. It steadfastly adheres to the Department of Education’s Mission Statement, which is committed to safeguarding and advancing every Filipino’s right to a quality, equitable, culturally relevant, and comprehensive basic education. The SSLG is rooted in the principles of sound governance, volunteerism, participatory democracy, responsible servant-leadership, collaboration, unity, accountability, and efficiency in serving its constituents. It embodies the core values of Maka-Diyos, Makatao, Makakalikasan, and Makabansa, and translates these principles and ideals into action through academic, socio-civic, and leadership programs and activities. The SSLG pursues several objectives, including the reinforcement of the values, principles, and ideals of the Department of Education, the empowerment of learners to excel in academics, leadership, and social responsibility, and the motivation of learners to be active contributors to society. It also strives to instill in learners a fervent love for their country, values, and competencies that will empower them to reach their full potential and make significant contributions to nation-building. The SSLG serves as the learners’ representative in the School Governing Council, actively collaborating with the school administration to create a learner-friendly, safe, and stimulating learning environment. It also partners with the school administration to foster an inclusive, service-oriented, gender-sensitive, culturally conscious, and environmentally aware community. In conclusion, the SSLG is dedicated to serving, protecting, and advocating for the rights and welfare of every learner. It is unwavering in its commitment to uphold the principles of good governance, the value of integrity, and to reject all forms of corruption and actions that contravene the rules and regulations of the school and the Department of Education.
