Economic Empowerment, Governance, Active Citizenship
The Matag-ob Young Allies for the People (MYAP), formerly known as the Young Professionals Guild (YPG), was established in April 2020 with the involvement of various young professionals from the Matag-ob community. Initially conceived as a platform for parish youth to support each other in personal and professional growth, the guild's activities were temporarily suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. During the pandemic, the YPG recognized the urgent need to assist the community through outreach and gift-giving initiatives. Reactivating their efforts, they demonstrated a commitment to social responsibility, aiming to make a positive impact during challenging times. Looking ahead, the organization has decided to broaden its focus, leveraging the diverse range of professions among its members. They plan to empower youth through their respective expertise, with each member using their profession to inspire and support young individuals in the community. The guild aims to create opportunities for youth to explore various professions, gain insights, and develop skills for their future careers. This may involve workshops, mentoring programs, career talks, or other activities providing guidance and support. Overall, the Young Professionals Guild seeks to build a sense of community among young professionals, support local youth, and empower the next generation by utilizing its members' expertise. Through collaboration and resource pooling, the guild aims to make a significant impact on the growth and development of young individuals in Matag-ob.
