The Negrosanon Initiative for Climate and the Environment (NICE) is a youth-led organization focused on achieving climate and environmental justice in Negros Occidental. NICE envisions a future with strong networks promoting inclusive governance for environmental sustainability. The organization aims to empower communities across all social strata, creating platforms for meaningful participation and collaboration. It emphasizes a people-centered and science-based approach to resource building, policy advocacy, and genuine development. NICE's objectives include organizing and strengthening environmental advocates, conducting capacity-building activities, and developing youth capacities in campaigns and advocacies. The organization also focuses on establishing linkages with other stakeholders, engaging government agencies on climate and environmental governance, and advocating for public participation in decision-making processes. Additionally, NICE encourages collaboration with like-minded organizations, develops and publishes science-based knowledge resources, pushes for policy reforms in partnership with civil society organizations, and implements projects that promote genuine sustainable development in Negros.
