The Xavier University - Ateneo de Cagayan Senior High School Government (XU-SHSG) serves as the apex governing body of the senior high school. Its officers act as representatives for all students across various strands and associations, both within and beyond campus, advocating for their welfare and interests. The vision of the XU-SHSG is to foster a socially aware and engaged government, grounded in a realistic understanding of societal needs and proactively addressing the collective concerns of its constituents through dynamic, effective, and unified efforts. Guided by principles of authentic Christian humanism, it aims to be pro-student, pro-people, pro-country, Christ-centered, and respectful of the rights of individuals from diverse religious backgrounds. Upholding principles of genuine student participation and democratic representation, it commits to dialogue, consultation, and non-violent resolution of issues. The XU-SHSG is dedicated to implementing and upholding the Magna Carta of Students' Rights, Responsibilities, and Welfare, contributing to the enhancement of the Philippine Educational System, and addressing societal needs and challenges. It prioritizes transparency in governance and encourages active involvement from all constituents. Equitable treatment is upheld, irrespective of race, ethnicity, age, gender, belief, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, disability, economic status, or other diverse backgrounds. Recognition is given to all students representing the school in tournaments and competitions. The XU-SHSG also endeavors to support scholars by promoting student services that effectively meet their needs, thereby advancing the general welfare of this sector.
