Education
The Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) plays a crucial role in fostering environmental awareness and action through a diverse range of programs and activities that engage social, civic, intellectual, recreational, and scientific dimensions. The organization is committed to promoting a deep understanding of environmental issues and motivating students to take concrete steps towards environmental protection and sustainability. The objectives of YES-O are multifaceted. First and foremost, it aims to raise awareness among students and the wider community about the state of the Philippine environment and its pressing ecological issues. This is achieved by educating members on current environmental challenges and encouraging them to become advocates for change within their communities. To address these challenges, YES-O establishes specific and actionable programs, projects, and activities. These initiatives are designed not only to mitigate environmental problems but also to serve as models of effective environmental stewardship. By implementing these projects, members of YES-O can directly contribute to environmental conservation and rehabilitation efforts. Furthermore, YES-O actively networks with other government and non-government organizations, including other YES Organizations within the Division and Region. This collaboration enhances the impact of their programs by pooling resources, sharing best practices, and gaining broader support for their initiatives. Community participation is also a cornerstone of YES-O’s mission. The organization encourages local communities to take part in environmental and ecological movements, recognizing that collective action is essential for meaningful change. Through these efforts, YES-O aims to cultivate a culture of environmental responsibility, fostering the development of proper environmental values, skills, and attitudes among both its members and the broader community.
