Environment

The Tay-ac National High School established the Youth for Environment in Schools Organization or YES-O Club as a mandate of the Department of Education DO 72 S. 2003: Establishment of The Youth for Environment in Schools (Yes) Organization which is the establishment of a school-based co-curricular organization which will serve as a significant venue for students’ actions and movements toward safeguarding, protecting and conserving the environment for future generations. Furthermore, the establishment of the said organization is under the Republic Act No. 9512: An Act to promote environmental awareness through environmental education and for other purposes which promotes environmental awareness through environmental education which shall encompass environmental concepts and principles, environmental laws, the state of international and local environment, local environmental best practices, the threats of environmental degradation and its impact on human well-being, the responsibility of the citizenry to the environment and the value of conservation, protection and rehabilitation of natural resources and the environment.
