The Geosciences Society is a student organization under the umbrella of Palawan National School – Senior High School – Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Students Association (STEMSA) that promotes a broader understanding of environmental awareness through information dissemination; protection and conservation of environment through coastal clean-up and tree planting activities. The organization believes that a better future can only be built by younger generations learning from the environmental issues and committed to promote solutions to environmental problems. It is an organization which abides to the constitutional by-laws of the STEMSA where there is just, social order and leadership. It aims to train young leaders to be responsible citizens as environmentalist and develop love for nature and life. Geosciences society focuses on environmental concerns related to earth and life. It will serve as hub for networking, collaboration, education and information dissemination of scientific knowledge within and across the field of science. Its’ advocacies are promoting use of ecobags and no to single use plastics and other non-biodegradable wastes. Members of our society can learn from experts and get hands-on involvement with the natural world through regular meetings and extracurricular activities. In order to contribute to the solution-finding process and have a positive influence, we also put a lot of effort into increasing public awareness of environmental problems like pollution, global warming, and natural disasters. Our goal is to establish a community where students can exchange ideas, benefit from one another's knowledge, and use science to improve the world. To train young leaders to be responsible citizens of the community as environmentalist and develop love for nature and life. In addition to gaining new knowledge, membership in the Geosciences Society also influences how we perceive and preserve our planet.
