Health, Education, Economic Empowerment, Social Inclusion and Equity, Environment
WEngaged aims to establish a common agenda on education, environment, and mental health issues for developing countries in Southeast Asia using a human-centered design approach. It is intended to invest in out of school youth who belongs to the following sectors: differently-abled and indigenous or ethnic minority so that they can accelerate their potentials in contributing to economic empowerment of the Philippines and their local community; to initiate new ideas on education and social inclusion, and to become a thrust in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) specially this time of the pandemic. The vision of WEngaged focuses on three critical areas of intervention: 1. Providing education and social services access to needy students. 2. Promoting eco-friendly environment and sustainable livelihood programs. 3. Building local solutions addressing the most pressing challenges in mental health, poverty, and economics. Activities such as a hackathon, research conferences, forums, training/webinars, mobile visits, workshops, and outreaches will be conducted to manifest the goals. Moreover, a social media platform that has been proven effective will be utilized. This will be a great chance to work and connect with Southeast Asia countries and the local community.
