The Kannaway Dance Troupe was created by Mr. Alvin B. Liad in the year 2015. The name of the group was inspired by the “Kannaway” bird whose head is always looking at the ground searching for food. Despite of being on a high position, it always keeps its head down and this symbolizes that a “Kannaway” bird will always look down, always be humble despite of its success, likewise to our organization “Kannaway Dance Troupe” Below are our organizational objectives: 1.To unite students from the different colleges of the campus who have special skills/talents in the different form of arts like dance, music, visual arts, etc. 2. To improve their skills and instill the value of appreciation in the field of performing arts; 3. To develop student’s creativity and guide them for an ideal and healthy life in the future; 4. To serve effectual convergence point to promote partnerships and can be an important tool for new possibilities especially in using their artistic talents and skills which is significant mark in the promotion of a strong academe; 5. To generate and income to augment the equipment and other paraphernalia needed by the Kannaway Dance Troupe affairs thereby minimizing its dependence from the administration for operating expenses; 6. To have permanent group in promoting our Philippine customs and tradition especially Philippine Dances; 7. To create a community of students with the same interest in dancing.
