Makeshift Classroom Building

Project Name: Makeshift Classroom Building

Project Location: Angeles Elementary School, Angeles, Lapaz, Agusan Del Sur

We all know that classroom shortage is one of the problems in Public school today, especially in the provinces. The Rainbird Philippines initiated a project called RAINBIRD SCHOOL PARTNER 2019, luckily this school in Agusan del Sur reach-out to us and discussed the situation of their school, and that is why we came up with this idea that we build a Makeshift Wooden Classroom. And yes, so far this Project is one of the best and very successful.

The most successful project of Rainbird Philippines is a School Classroom Building of Angeles Elementary School in Lapaz, Agusan Del Sur. The Angeles Elementary School is located in the hinterland barangay of Lapaz, Agusan Del Sur. The school teacher in-charge requested Rainbird Philippines if we can build a Wooden Classroom for growing Manobo Enrolees in the area. The Rainbird Philippines initiated a fundraising and able to get support from the OFW in Germany through Mary Sieber. The construction started in October 2019, with the help of parents, students and barangay leaders who do the construction step by step and it was turn-over on November 2019. Rainbird Philippines committed to help students in far flung areas of the country and very thankful to generous sponsors for always supporting Rainbird Projects and activities since 2012. The classroom is now being used as classroom for Manobo students and a shelter for teachers assigned in the school.

The community in barangay Angeles, the teachers and the leaders are very happy for this project that aims to give the students a good learning environment for them, unlike before that their classroom is made only of bamboo and light materials. Today they can enjoy their classroom and not to worry on rainy season in the mountains, they are secure with the winds and heavy rains because they have classroom that would still stand during the storm.

Rainbird Philippines will continue to initiate a project that will help youth see the light, empower them to become the youth that we want them to be.

We hope that this project will inspire other youth organization and youth serving organization to do the same, step-out from the usual thing and reach-out to build something better.
